Alert the media, have the paramedics on standby, and get the difibulator ready: I'm taking a looooooooooooong break from World of Warcraft; probably until the expansion pack comes out this summer. Ok, I don't know if I can make it that long...maybe until after graduation...or until I get $400 to pay down some credit cards and other miscellaneous bills so I can justify the money to pay to play WoW. I don't know how I will survive. Actually, I am starting to do things that I've never done before: like homework. Anyway, pray for me, I am doing this cold turkey. If I really wanted to play, I'm sure Andy would be like: "Here, play my mage for awhile so I can level" but I could use the time to get some things figured out and ready to go.

The stress is unbearable. In less than 72 hours I will be sitting down to the second biggest standardized test of my life, the Law School Admittance Test (LSAT). If this is only the second biggest, what IS the biggest? Simple: The Bar Exam (that thing I have to pass to practice law after spending 4 years and $100k on law school). How annoying would that be? Go $100,000 in debt to a law school only to fail the bar exam and not be allowed to practice law for an entire year until the bar came around again....

August 22nd. Anyone know what August 22nd is? I'll tell ya. It's 9 days before I go back to school. Did ya catch that? NINE DAYS! I'm excited. Not that I am counting, but in eight months I should be the elated recipient of a bachelor's degree in the arts with a double major in political science and philosophy. Why the political science degree is a bachelor's degree of the ARTS (when it has 'science' in it's name) is beyond me, but that's the way it is, and I don't really care. Yea for double majors that are done in four years.

Wait: it gets better! This means 18 credit hours for me. That's right, 18. Including (but not limited to) Ancient Greek Philosophy, the American System of Law, and Philosophy of the Mind. Lots of reading, and even more writing, but ya know what? EIGHT MONTHS AND THEY'RE DONE!

It's amazing what God can do in the lives of 4 people in the span of a week.
I am not in a position to divulge many details about what has happened because of the nature of the situation, but let's just say that I have a new appreciation for the power of God, and a new dedication to living my life God's way. Over the last two weeks especially I have seen the hypocracy that runs rampant in a church system and realized what happens when Christians and churches claim to be doing things God's way yet are really operating things in a way that makes them seem more like a corporation than a loving, caring family.

Potentially three people who either were already or are becoming really good friends of mine will be leaving their current church for mine, reason being that the leadership there is mishandling situations and causing a lot of internal unrest. These friends have had a rough time with said church, and having prayed about it, I am glad that they have decided that my church is one in which they feel they can serve God with a thankful heart. Granted it's taking a lot of trust on their part, leaving their "home church" for a new congregation filled with people they don't know that well, but I'm glad that they are feeling like they have found a place to worship and serve where they are happy and feel like they fit in with the rest of the church members.

Anyhoo, I have re-realized the dedication that God wants from me personally as a Christian, and I'm kinda on cloud 9 about that one, because I am starting to feel like I am really where God wants me to be right now...

So, everyone read the warning? good.

THE ENDING OF THIS BOOK IS PSYCHOTIC! DUMBLEDORE IS DEAD; AND WHO FRICKIN' KILLED HIM??? SNAPE!!! FOR THE LAST 4 BOOKS I'VE BEEN SAYING "SNAPE'S A SNAKE" (ok, so it's a corny line, but ya know how it is)

I spent the entire book thinking that Draco was trying to kill Dumbledore (which he was) and that the Half-Blood Prince was someone crazy like oh, I don't know..... Slughorn? Especially once we discovered Slughorn's knowledge of horcruxes and other dark arts and incantations...then the bottle of wine that almost killed Ron...yeah, definitely thought the Half-Blood Prince was Slughorn...Then Harry almost killed Draco Malfoy.......and I knew the Prince was Snape. How did I know? Simple: this offensive spell that the Prince made up that Harry used to about Kill Malfoy.....yeah, Snape knew the counter-curse almost immediately. Then I knew he made up the curse...and then Snape was the prince...

At that point, we knew Snape was going bad...and he did to the point of Killing Dumbledore...screwed up, but predictable.... I COULD HAVE WRITTEN THIS BOOK!!!

anyhoo.....only 2 more years, and then the madness is over!!!

So, Jen met the family yesterday. Jen, I'm sorry, but Mom said I can't see you anymore......KIDDING.

My family absoultely adores you. Mom said "I liked her as much as I would have liked any girl who is taking my son from me" (it's a compliment)

Obviously Mike likes you a lot, and Dad says that he's perfectly comfortable with you....My folks want you to meet the rest of the extended family...that's a huge compliment.

Life is SO not fair

I don't know what to say.... Envious? probably. Frustrated? definitely. Hurt? a little.

Why? Simple: I miss Jenifer. I haven't seen Jen outside of a work setting since Commencement (yeah, I know, 5 or 6 days, so what?) but it's depressing to me. We were supposed to go out tonight (Fri) but since neither of us had any money (and I had no gas) it didn't happen. It would have been our first REAL one-on-one date in almost two months; dinner, movie, the whole 9 yards. I was even going to bust out the suit and tie. What happened? nothing. Jen even went out with her best friend Kris.

I suppose I shouldn't care, Kris is her best friend and all, and I'm probably over-reacting, but I really miss talking to her. She's never online anymore and I don't even get to talk to her. I mean, I'm her fiancee and her friends talk to her more than I do. Maybe I'm being inconsiderate to her feelings or something, I don't even know. All I know right now is that I've talked to her ONCE (on the phone, for 10-15 minutes) since Tuesday and I'm going crazy.

Jeni: if/when you see this, I miss you like crazy, and I don't know what the deal is... why won't you even get online to talk to me? Is hanging out with Kris/Ryan so important to you that it shoves me in the backseat? Did I do something to piss you off? What's the deal?

Anyway...now that I got that out of my system...

Jen, I love you, and I'm not trying to make you look bad, just expressing my frustration at our situation. I'll call u tomorrow, ok? Love you!

World of Warcraft

Andy: there is something better than Warcraft III: World of Warcraft.

This game is built in the same style as Everquest but in the "World of Warcraft" (hence the name) it's unbelievably sweet.

That's why I haven't updated or done anything at all, because all week my life has revolved around World of Warcraft... It's absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately, it belongs to a friend of mine, so I am allowed to create a character on his account, but I have to do whatever he wants me to do. *blech* I can't make a Tauren, I can't have a Warrior, it has to be a Mage, don't go that way, I need... ugh. I need my own copy, but I don't have the $ to do it. Oh well. So is life.

It's been awhile

So I had a sweet weekend. I went on a trip with a group of Junior High kids from my church down to middle of nowhere, Ohio. It was awesome. We had a blast, and spent 3 hours singing about Purple Pixy-Stix... it was a long drive...lol

So Jen met my best friend of 12 years today, and she gets his seal of approval, why? Because she plays Warcraft, this made me laugh. But it's great for me, because his opinion was one of the most important ones to me.

The only opinions of Jen that are left to get are those of the parents and brother. We should be able to land those this weekend, and from there, it's all downhill. Anyhoo, I am going back to work. Later all.

Last Day of School

As we've boldly trekked where no student has trekked before over the last eight months, I come to the mandatory period of reflection where I have no choice but to review the schoool year and all of its plusses and minuses in a vain attempt to evaluate how great of a year I had so that I have an exciting reason to want to be back in the fall. So here we go, evaluating this school year and all of it's little quirks.

Early in September it was rough, I was a full-time student and working with a state representative in Lansing, not to mention pulling 8 hours a day at Meijer (notice the lack of the 's') on weekends. I was living in Owosso with my cousins, away from the influence of the annoying parents. My classes were fine, they kept me busy, but they were fine. I loved working in the capital and I wish I were still doing it. I began working with our church's bible quiz team and wondered how that would turn out.

-wait- I am now inserting Randy's random thought, so there is a break in the evaluation of the year for "Randy's Random Thought of the Day": If I ever was a kamikaze pilot I would fly naked and eject at the last second so my naked japanese body would take out more people before the explosion.

From September we sustained the same existance throughout the fall and moved into the winter months. This brought: Christmas. Yea for Christmas, what did I get? I couldn't tell you. Some movies, I think there was a video game too, but I don't remember for sure, and clothes (yuck). But there was an end to the semester there which was good. Working for The Representative came to an end and I was no longer in the capital building, yet still there were people here in Flint to talk to. People whose company I enjoyed and I would like to think enjoyed mine. Christmas break brought a vacation to Georgia. Ha Ha Ha! (insert video clip of old crazy guy from Everybody Loves Raymond waving fists screaming "Ha Ha Ha" here) A bonus week of warm weather!

Break ended and I had to go back to school, thankfully this also translated as "back to Owosso" yea, no more parents for a little while. I got back into the swing of my church's quiz bowl team which continued to improve by leaps and bounds month by month and I also became increasingly involved in the life of my best friend Jen. I never thought about what was happening at the time, but as the favors piled up, be they rides home when she got stranded, or cash for whatever she needed at the time I began to realize that I really enjoyed being around her, but thought nothing of it. As the semester droned on I got to the fated February 25th. February 25th was a Saturday and Jeni and I spent the day watching the Lord of the Rings movies. Nothing happened, but we had a lot of fun and it caused me to realize that if I ever had a second chance at her, there was no way I could ever give it up.

The semester droned on, and I continued to put off every project I had until I got to the end where I am now and have to do them all in the span of a week, but I'm getting ahead of myself. March came around and I had to move back in with my parents. *ugh* and now I am stuck. I don't mind my parents, but after being on my own, moving back in with them has been torture. My freedom is severely restricted. Then Jeni and I decided to give the dating thing a shot, and it looks like it's working. In fact, it got us engaged.

During this whole dating process I got a job at the Palace working all the Pistons games and crap, it's a great thing. But now I am stressing out over final papers and all that crap.

I suppose all in all it was a pretty good year and I'm sure I'll have no problem generating the interest in coming back for ONE more year (and hopefully it is only one more year). We'll see.

My first major paper is done. yea for me. Only took me 4 days to do it, but it's done, which means that I am down to my presentation and 3 more papers and 2 exams. yea...

On the plus side, I found a kick-butt icon! I love my lj avatar. hahaha.

Ok, so it's been awhile since I updated, and I felt that I should let people know what is going on in my life.

So far: no warcraft. I've done well. The final papers are coming along, in fact I am working on one as I write this, but I needed a bit of a break from the drag of work, so here I am, updating my livejournal, with a bruised shoulder. Hilary: I friggin' hate you. (j/k, I love u future sister-in-law)

Anyway, I am feeling kinda nautious, you know how it is, the whole "I can feel that I am getting sick, but I'm not there yet" kind of nausea. It sucks. What sucks even more is that the softball game is in a week and a half and I have to be in Ohio all of next weekend, and I am getting sick. Leave it to me to get frickin' sick during the busiest two weeks of my year!! argh!

Anyway: while I am complaining about being sick, I am waiting for nick to call so that he, randy, and i can go hit a batting cage. I know, I'm brilliant. Working last night was ok, it was the Milwaukee Bucks, pretty boring night. They're not Indiana, that's for sure. lol.

Ok, there's my update, now: back to my paper.
